Top Ten Authors I Own The Most Books From

Hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

THIS POST TOOK FOREVER. Also I am in Oxford currently, meaning I am nowhere near my books so this was all done by memory and the magic of Goodreads, meaning I sort of vaguely pictured my bookstacks of doom and tried to remember which author stacks were tallest and oh man, I'm tired. I need to not own so many things. One of these days the books are going to swallow me whole.

Every single picture here represents the version and cover of the book I own. Every book shown is either in my apartment, aka the place that I live, in storage at my mom's house (thanks Mom), or they're on my Kindle, though that's only a couple of them. And some are even here in my suitcase!
Meg Cabot

Authors I thought of too late and got lazy about: Phillip Pullman, Gail Carson Levine (I had 13 of her books at one point in my life), Neil Gaiman, Carolyn Keene (this would take me a hundred more years), Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, Rainbow Rowell (I own a lot of different versions of her books but I can't REMEMBER WHICH), Garth Nix (current count: 6 books plus an omnibus containing... 4 books? ARGH to be home).

  2. Riordan's on my list too because I love his books so much! Roald Dahl should've been on my list, but it seems that I forgot to count his book. I love Eva Ibbotson too, but I sadly borrowed most of her books from the library. Now I want to reread some of her books.

  3. Meg Cabot is also top of my list. She's just written so much, hasn't she?! It seems like we've got very similar taste in books because I've read and enjoyed many of these books.

    Great choices!

  4. Rick Riordan! Yay! I somehow spaced and forgot to put him on my list. I blame it on the fact that most of my books are boxed up. :(

  5. I am in awe. IN AWE. This is pretty much a book nerd's dream (or nightmare, depending on how practical you are and how much space you have, whether you're moving, and other practical life things that aren't that important anyway.) Your Meg Cabot and Tamora Pierce collections have now become personal life goals. Also, owning this many duplicates of S.J. Maas books is totally legit because it shows the love. Ha, that's funny that you have the UK edition of '...then he ate my boy entrancers'. Georgia books always sound so dirty but they're rather innocent in context. However that book will always be a personal tragedy for me because introduction of Masimo. WHY LOUISE WHY. I don't see anything wrong with this my shelves: extreme hoarding edition. If anything, your dedication is an inspiration to us all. (Me, I'm talking about me.)

  7. Your Meg Cabot collection awes me. IT AWES ME GILLIAN. As does the fact that you took the time to post every cover. I applaud your dedication to MC.

OMG LOOK AT ALL THE GORGEOUS HARRY POTTERS. I only have my one set (sad, I know) buuuut they’re all hardcover first editions (super impressive in contemporary releases) and I’ve loved them to bits. I do want the new cover set with the Hogwarts spine because I mean really. Also check out your Spanish editions you smarty mclanguage person!

Hello Tamora Pierce, I will read you soon. Or one day. Or one day soon.

    GEORGIAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Gaaaahhhhhh I love the illustrated Celeana covers. So amazingly badass and gorgeous. SEE PUBS? THIS IS HOW YOU DO A REDESIGN. YOU MAKE THEM BETTER.

    SOPHIIIIEEEEEEE

ROBIN MCKINLEY! Given how much I love her, it is a shame that I don’t have all of her books. I have many though, so that’s something.

    ROALD DAAAAAAAAAHL

You collect excellent books Gillian, very excellent.

  9. I guess that's a lot of books. But I feel like you could do better. MOAR BOOKS.

Also, did you ever think it was super appropriate that MC = Meg Cabot and Main Character, because sometimes I think about this thing.

  10. Oh my lands. I thought about putting up covers and went naaaaaaaah. Brave soul. Also, hey, your Stephanie Meyers outnumbers your Robin McKinley. EXCUSE TO BUY MORE ROBIN MCKINLEY = GRANTED.

  11. Woah. Visually, that was a treat. I legit smiled when I saw Eva Ibbotson. Love her. And Robin McKinley, Tamora Pierce, J.K. Rowling....I could go on. Awesome list.

I've read 20 Meg Cabot books...so I'm totally with you on that boat. Victoria and the Rogue is still my all-time favorite of hers. So cute!

  13. Your Meg Cabot collection is just... WOW! I never gave her adult fiction a chance when I was younger and eating up all the princess diaries books, but now I'm thinking I should give them a shot!

I'm still staring at the Meg Cabot collection. LOL!

I have some Eva Ibbotson and Roald Dahl books, but not nearly as many as you have! =P The authors who dominated my Tenner wrote Romance rather than Middle Grade or Young Adult.

  15. Such a pretty post! I bet it too a really long time to put this together. I have a lot of Meg Cabot books, too, but not that many! And I only own one Roald Dahl book, but I do adore him. And I'm an idiot for forgetting to include Harry Potter on my list this week. :)

  16. Wr have several authors in common, like Rick Riordan and J.K. Rowling. I haven't read anything by Tamora Pierce yet, but I've been wanting to read "Song of the Lioness" for ages!

  19. Sweet baby Meg Cabot. Which reminds me I really need to finish The Princess Diaries series. SOMEDAY.

ALL OF THE HARRY POTTER EDITIONS!!!!!!!!!!! I only have the original US hardcovers and the new paperbacks. I NEED the UK editions eventually.

ALL THE PRETTY THRONE OF GLASS BOOKS. Now that they are re-releasing the first one in hardcover with the better cover, I'll have to buy them all in hardcover in addition to my UK paperbacks.

    SO MANY PRETTIES
